CONCLUSIONS: Vitamin D should be conceptualized in psychiatry as a context-dependent neuroimmune and immunometabolic signal rather than a generic psychotropic intervention. Future studies should prioritize biomarker-enriched, developmentally timed, nutrition-centered models of precision prevention and adjunctive care.
