CONCLUSIONS: This novel context-discrepancy assessment suggests that increased social-evaluative demands exacerbate the psychological tolls of IM for autistic compared to non-autistic adults. Autistic relative to non-autistic adults may particularly monitor nonverbal behaviors in such circumstances.
