The diagnosis of ADHD remains shrouded in controversy, resulting in alarming reports in (social) media. Danger of underdiagnosis, risk of overdiagnosis, and medicalization of social problems are all mentioned. The diagnostic uncertainty is largely due to the non-specific nature of ADHD symptoms.
